🧮 The welcome offer, decoded
Betway asks you to pick at sign-up. Door one is a first-deposit match with a rollover on the bonus at minimum odds, a 30-day window and a spins add-on for the casino. Door two is a first-bet refund: if your first bet loses, the stake comes back as a free bet with no wagering on its winnings. The amounts and odds floor are in the offer box above; the refund sits with the bet insurance offers.
The match has one clause that changes everything. Bets at or above the odds floor clear the bonus at the standard rate. Bets between 1.30 and just under the floor still count, but toward a 50x rate. Most rollovers simply ignore short-odds bets; this one quietly stretches the target instead.

Two source notes. The match cap differs between a Quebec-checked page from September 2026 and an older July page; we use the newer one. The spins add-on also differs: one source says 20 spins on one slot, another says 50 on a different game. Neither is a sports benefit, so don’t weigh it much.

The odds floor. Covered above, and worth repeating: check the price on every bet while the bonus is live.
Rollover base, unstated. Our source doesn’t say whether the rollover runs on the bonus alone or on deposit plus bonus; we assume the bonus. If it’s the larger base, the worked example doubles.
One welcome only. The match and the refund are alternatives. Choose before you deposit.
The refund’s real value. A refunded free bet doesn’t return its stake when it wins. As a worked example, a C$50 free bet played at 2.00 is worth about C$23.85 on average, and about C$31.80 at 3.00. The refund softens a losing first bet; it doesn’t replace it.

The core is ice hockey, basketball, soccer and baseball, with MMA, tennis, golf, cricket, horse racing, futsal, equestrian, badminton and handball behind it. Hockey and basketball fit the calendar. The NHL season opened on 29 September with seven Canadian teams, and the NBA’s opened on 20 October, with the Raptors at home to Chicago the next night. Live betting, cash out and extras
Betway’s in-play kit is strong in our research: live betting, a bet builder, cash out in full, partial and automatic versions, and live streaming on some events. Partial cash out lets you bank part of a bet and leave the rest running, and auto cash out triggers at a value you set.
A cash out is priced by the book. The fair value is the potential return divided by the current odds; a book offering less than that keeps the gap. Example: C$20 at 3.00 can return C$60; if the selection is now 1.40 live, fair value is about C$42.86. Compare any cash out offer against that before you take it.
⚡ Payments and payouts
Interac e-Transfer leads, with iDebit, Visa, Mastercard and Apple Pay beside it, Paysafecard for deposits only, and crypto: Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP and USDC. 🔒 Licence and safety
The Malta Gaming Authority register lists Betway Limited under MGA/CRP/130/2006, status Licensed, and the UK Gambling Commission register shows active Betway licences too. Malta is the strongest licence type we see at offshore-facing books: a public register, binding alternative dispute resolution and rules on player funds. If a complaint stalls with the operator, it goes to the MGA’s Player Support Unit or Betway’s ADR body.
