⚡ The quick take - Sports offers live apart from casino deals: separate cards, separate terms, separate rollover.
- The rollover runs at minimum odds, often on parlays. That decides what a sports bonus costs.
- Margin beats bonus: a standard -110 line carries about 4.55%, and you pay it on every bet.
- Licences vary from Malta to Kahnawake to Curaçao and Anjouan. Check the row before you deposit.
How to use this section
Everything above this block is built from data we update when an operator changes its terms: the top sports offers, the sport tiles, the bonus-type tiles and the sportsbook comparison. This part explains how to read it.
Start with what you want to bet on. Each sport page lists the sportsbooks that cover it and the markets that matter: hockey, football (NFL and CFL), basketball, baseball, soccer, MMA and boxing, tennis, esports, golf and motorsport.
Then pick the book. The full sportsbook list ranks every book we cover on its sportsbook score, with licence, features and the welcome offer side by side. If an offer is the reason you’re looking, the sports bonus page splits offers by type: welcome matches, free bets, reloads, odds and parlay boosts, and bet insurance.
Two tools do the arithmetic for you. The odds converter flips any price between decimal, American and fractional and shows the implied probability. The parlay calculator multiplies the legs of a slip and shows how often it lands on paper.
How sports betting works here
Bill C-218 made single-game betting lawful for provinces from August 27, 2021. Outside Ontario and Alberta, the provincial lottery corporation runs the licensed sportsbook. Offshore books licensed outside Canada also accept players from these provinces; the law targets operators, but provincial self-exclusion, limit tools and complaint routes don’t reach those sites. Our sports betting overview covers the whole picture, and the guide to the law goes province by province.
Ontario and Alberta run regulated open markets, and several books on our list send players there to separate provincial sites. bet365, Betway, BET99 and Sports Interaction all run Ontario or Alberta sites apart from the international one covered here.
🧮 What a bet really costs
Every price carries the bookmaker’s margin. Two sides at -110 each imply 52.38%, adding to 104.76%; the book keeps about 4.55% of what’s staked if the money is balanced. Three-way lines, props and futures usually carry more, and parlays multiply it leg by leg: four coin-flip legs at -110 land 6.25% of the time with about a 17% built-in edge. That’s why we rank on terms and pricing tools, not headline size.

Sports bonuses, read straight
A sports bonus is cleared at minimum odds, often on parlays, within a deadline. The cost of clearing it is the bets required times the margin on the bets you use. On singles at -110, a C$500 rollover averages about C$22.75; on 4-leg parlays, about C$84.90 (computed, illustrative). Free bets usually keep the stake, so a C$10 free bet at 2.00 is worth about C$4.77 on average.

🔒 How we rate sportsbooks
Each sportsbook gets its own score, separate from any casino score the brand has, because a strong casino can sit next to a thin sportsbook.

Licences are where books differ most. Beazt, Betway, bet365 and Wildz show up as licensed on the Malta Gaming Authority register. BET99, bwin, Sports Interaction and TonyBet appear on the Kahnawake Gaming Commission’s permit-holder list. 20Bet, Stake and V.Vegas hold Curaçao licences that the regulator’s register shows as under assessment. MagicianBet and Oxibet hold Anjouan licences we couldn’t check on any register. Our licences guide explains what each regulator does for players, and how to choose a sportsbook puts licence first.
Guides by sport and skill
League guides cover the rules that change betting: the NHL guide (60-minute lines and overtime), the CFL guide (the 2026 rule changes; the 113th Grey Cup is in Calgary on November 15), the NFL guide, the NBA guide, the soccer guide (1X2 and Asian handicap), the UFC guide and the esports guide.
🍁 Payments and limits
Interac e-Transfer is the default rail for Canadians at most books here; our Interac page covers how it works, and the withdrawals guide explains verification and pending periods. Winnings for recreational bettors are generally not taxable, per our tax guide.
Set a budget in units before your first bet; our bankroll guide shows how. Canada’s Lower-Risk Gambling Guidelines suggest no more than 1% of household income a month and no more than four days a month. Everything in this section is for players aged 19 or over outside Ontario and Alberta, and our responsible gambling page lists every provincial helpline.
FAQ
Which sportsbooks can I use outside Ontario and Alberta?
Your provincial lottery site is the licensed option at home: PlayNow in B.C., Saskatchewan and Manitoba, Mise-o-jeu in Quebec, Atlantic Lottery in the Atlantic provinces. The sportsbooks on this page are licensed outside Canada and accept players from these provinces. Provincial protections don't apply to them.
How do you rank sportsbooks?
Five equal sub-scores out of 10: bonus terms, sports and markets, features, payout speed, and licence and safety. Each comes from a published fact with a check date, such as the rollover in the bonus terms or the regulator register entry. Commission never changes a score.
Can I use a casino bonus on sports bets?
Usually not. Brands that run a casino and a sportsbook keep separate offers with separate rollover rules, and casino wagering rarely counts sports bets. That's why sports offers on BonusMadness sit on their own cards and lists, apart from casino deals.
What does minimum odds mean on a sports bonus?
Only bets priced at or above that number count toward the rollover. It stops you clearing a bonus on near-certain favourites. Some books apply it per leg of a parlay, some to the whole slip, and shorter odds may count at a reduced rate or not at all.
Do I pay tax on sports betting winnings in Canada?
For recreational bettors, gambling winnings are generally not taxable in Canada; interest earned on them is. Betting as an organized business can be treated differently. Our tax guide covers the CRA position. This isn't tax advice.
What age do I need to be?
19 in British Columbia, Saskatchewan and the Atlantic provinces, 18 in Manitoba and Quebec. BonusMadness uses 19+ across the site because it covers the strictest provinces. Ontario and Alberta run their own regulated markets and aren't covered here.
