⚡ The quick take - Rollover at minimum odds is the term that decides a sports bonus. Read it before the headline.
- Parlay-only rollovers cost several times more to clear than singles.
- Free bets usually keep the stake, so their value is well under face value.
- Refund offers pay as bonus bets, not cash, in the terms we read.
How sports bonuses work
Sports offers look like casino bonuses but clear differently. Instead of wagering on slots, you bet the rollover on sports, and only bets at or above the minimum odds count. Many offers also require parlays with a minimum number of legs and a short deadline. The cost of clearing depends on the margin of the bets you place.
Worked example, illustrative terms: a C$100 sports bonus with a 5x rollover on the bonus only. Total bets: C$500.

Same bonus, nearly four times the cost depending on what the terms force you to bet. Our sports bonuses guide runs the full maths.
The five offer types
- Welcome matches: deposit matches, bet-and-get offers and first-bet refunds for new accounts. Most books on our list run one; Stake, V.Vegas, bwin and MagicianBet had no sports welcome offer when we checked.
- Free bets: tokens for a single bet. Value them with our free bets guide.
- Reloads: matches on later deposits, such as 20Bet’s weekly Saturday reload.
- Odds and parlay boosts: better prices or extra parlay winnings; the parlay guide explains why legs matter.
- Bet insurance: refunds on losing bets, usually as bonus bets.
⚠️ What to check before you claim
- Rollover base: bonus only, or deposit plus bonus? Sources disagree on this for some offers, and we hedge the card when they do.
- Minimum odds: per leg or per slip, and what happens to shorter-priced bets. At Betway, bets below the minimum odds count toward the rollover at a much lower rate.
- Currency: CasinOK’s sports bonus is published in USD, not C$.
- Deadline: enough days to settle the bets you plan?
- Payment method: Interac e-Transfer works almost everywhere; see our Interac page.
🍁 Canada notes
Every offer here is for players aged 19 or over outside Ontario and Alberta, from sportsbooks licensed outside Canada. Provincial self-exclusion doesn’t reach them, so set your own deposit limit before you claim. The sportsbook list shows each book’s licence, and the betting hub links every guide. Our responsible gambling page lists every provincial helpline.
FAQ
What types of sports bonus are there?
Welcome deposit matches, free bets (often bet-and-get), reloads for existing customers, odds and parlay boosts, and bet insurance that refunds a losing bet. Each has its own page on BonusMadness with the terms that matter for that type shown on every card.
How do I compare two sports welcome bonuses?
Work out the total bets needed (base times multiplier), then check the minimum odds and whether parlays are required. The cost of clearing is roughly the total bets times the margin on the bets you use: about 4.55% on -110 singles, far more on parlays.
Are sports bonuses available in Ontario and Alberta?
Not the ones on this page. Ontario and Alberta run their own regulated markets, and several books send players there to separate provincial sites with their own offers. Everything here is for players outside those two provinces.
Can I claim a casino bonus and a sports bonus at the same brand?
It depends on the brand. Where a brand runs both, the offers are separate with separate terms, and some ask you to choose one at sign-up. Read both sets of terms before your first deposit.
Which deposit methods qualify for sports bonuses?
Interac e-Transfer is accepted at almost every book here. Some books exclude certain e-wallets from welcome offers, so read the payment exclusions in the bonus terms before you choose how to deposit.
