No welcome: what Stake runs instead
Stake’s promotions page, checked on 24 October 2026, lists nine sports promotions and no sports welcome. A big deposit match circulates through affiliate codes, but its rollover is weighted by house edge, which is how casino bonuses work, and its currency is shown only as “$”. Our Stake casino review covers it. For the sportsbook, the value is in standing promos:
- Boosted odds all season on NHL markets until 30 April 2027, NFL until 14 February 2027, NBA until June 2027 and soccer until 30 June 2027. An MLB World Series boost runs until 31 October.
- NFL lead refund: if your team leads by 10 or more after three quarters and loses, the bet is refunded. Runs until 13 February 2027.
- Other refunds and payouts: a Canadian review also lists UFC split-decision insurance, horse racing refunds and a soccer payout tied to a late lead.

⚠️ The terms that bite
Global terms. The promotions page isn’t Canada-specific. Check that each promo applies to your account before you bet on it.
Unknown limits. No stake caps or refund amounts are shown. A boost capped at a small stake is worth little to a bigger bettor.
Fiat costs. Card deposits carry fees, and fiat withdrawals are much slower than crypto.
Pick your spots. Season-long boosts make it tempting to bet every night because there’s always a boosted price. A boost improves one bet’s price; it doesn’t change how many bets you can afford. Decide on a weekly budget first and treat boosts as a way to get better prices inside it, not a reason to bet more often.
Markets for Canadian bettors
Stake’s market list runs to 149 leagues, per a Canadian review, across ice hockey, soccer, American and Canadian football, basketball, baseball, tennis, MMA and UFC, darts, horse racing and esports.
The promos line up with Canada’s calendar. NHL boosts run through the whole regular season, which opened on 29 September with seven Canadian teams and ends on 10 April. Live betting, cash out and extras

🔒 Licence and safety
Stake’s operator, Medium Rare N.V., holds Curaçao licence OGL/2024/1451/0918. The Curaçao Gaming Authority register dated 20 October 2026 lists it as assessment in progress, not a final status. Curaçao’s new licence conditions require segregated player funds and free independent dispute resolution paid by the operator.
That’s not a provincial licence, and provincial self-exclusion such as BCLC’s Game Break or Loto-Québec’s programme doesn’t reach Stake. Set deposit limits in your account before you bet. Our responsible gambling page lists every provincial helpline.
Mobile betting
Our sources disagree on Stake’s apps: one Canadian review describes an iOS focus with an Android link, while our casino record lists an app without naming platforms. The mobile site carries the full sportsbook either way, including live streams, the bet builder and the crypto cashier. Apple Pay and Google Pay work for deposits on a phone through the crypto-purchase partner, with fees; Google Pay is deposit-only.
