Crypto is the fastest way to get money out of a casino on paper: minutes, not days, once the casino releases it. It’s also the payment route with the most ways to trip up before you place a bet. Which coin can you even buy in Canada? Which network do you send it on? What happens to your balance if Bitcoin drops 10% while it sits in the cashier? Here’s the plain version for players in Canada, from the on-ramp to the cashout.
- Buying: USDC is the stablecoin Canadians can buy at home; USDT was delisted for Canadian users.
- Networks must match on both ends. Check the label before every transfer.
- Speed: measured averages run from 2-8 minutes (USDT on Tron) to 8-25 minutes (Bitcoin) after release.
- Price risk: a coin can move between deposit and withdrawal. Stablecoins reduce that, not to zero.
Step one: getting crypto in Canada
Before a crypto casino sees a cent, you need coins, and Canada has its own rules on which ones you can buy at home.
Canadian securities regulators (the CSA) required stablecoin issuers to sign undertakings to stay tradable on Canadian platforms, under a staff notice from October 2023 with a deadline of 31 December 2024. Circle’s USDC was the first to do so, on 3 December 2024. That makes USDC the stablecoin Canadians can buy domestically.
Tether’s USDT went the other way. Crypto.com delisted it for Canadian users in January 2023 at the Ontario Securities Commission’s instruction, and Coinbase and others followed. Canadians who want USDT typically buy it on foreign platforms. Binance, once a common route, announced it was leaving Canada on 12 May 2023, so it isn’t a realistic option here either.
So if you want a stablecoin and prefer a Canadian-registered platform, USDC is the one to look for. Whatever you buy, the next step is the same: send it to the casino’s deposit address on the right network.
💳 Which coins casinos take
Coin support varies a lot between casinos. Bitcoin and Ethereum are close to universal on crypto-friendly sites; USDC is much rarer than USDT. Here’s who takes what among the casinos we list.

If you’re buying in Canada and want a stablecoin, check the USDC column first. Stake, CasinoK, Gravira and MagicianBet list it. Our USDC casinos page and Bitcoin casinos page carry the full lists, and the crypto casinos listing ranks every crypto-friendly site we cover.
Some casinos also sell you crypto at the cashier. Stake lists Visa, Mastercard and Apple Pay as crypto purchases through a partner, and MagicianBet’s cards and wallets are mainly used the same way. Card rules still apply: several big Canadian banks have been reported declining or flagging gambling on credit cards, and some treat it as a cash advance, with interest from day one.
Networks: the mistake to avoid
A coin isn’t just a coin; it travels on a network, or chain. The casino’s deposit address belongs to one network, and what you send has to match it on both ends.
Stablecoins make this tricky because they run on several chains. USDT runs on Tron (TRC-20), Ethereum (ERC-20), Solana and others. USDC runs on Ethereum too, but Circle discontinued it on Tron in February 2024, so a cashier that only offers USDC on Tron is showing you an old option. On Ethereum, both stablecoins pay gas fees like any other ERC-20 token.
The habit that saves you: copy the deposit address fresh from the cashier, read the network label next to it, and pick the same network in your wallet before you send. If the labels don’t match, stop.
Beyond the big three, casinos on our list also take coins built for quicker blocks. Litecoin targets a block every 2.5 minutes and Dogecoin every minute, against Bitcoin’s 10. Solana charges a small fixed base fee per signature, but it has had outages, including one of about 17 hours in September 2021. Faster blocks help, but as the next section shows, the casino’s own queue usually matters more than the chain.
How fast crypto withdrawals really are
This is where crypto earns its reputation. A 2026 test logged 213 withdrawals at 8 crypto casinos between April and June, on accounts verified in advance, timing each one from request to confirmation. It comes from a review site, so treat it as indicative, but it’s the best measured data in our sources.
Crypto vs Interac: typical withdrawal time
Typical withdrawal time once the casino approves it. Your first withdrawal also waits for ID checks.
- Tether (USDT)
- 1-15 min
- Ethereum
- 2-30 min
- Bitcoin
- 3-45 min
- Interac
- 1-24 h
The averages: USDT on Tron 2-8 minutes, Ethereum 5-15, Bitcoin 8-25, with the slowest single withdrawals reaching 15, 28 and 45 minutes. Weekend withdrawals ran 20-50% slower. Interac e-Transfer, for comparison, typically takes a few hours to a day after release.
The network itself is rarely the bottleneck. Ethereum produces a block every 12 seconds and XRP settles in 3-5 seconds; Bitcoin targets one block every 10 minutes. What dominates is the casino’s own processing. In our records, Oxibet is reported paying in about 10 minutes, CasinoK and Stake are reported within an hour, and Lucky7even lists crypto as instant, all operator or reviewer claims we hold at low to medium confidence. Your first withdrawal also waits for any ID check. Our casino withdrawals guide explains each stage.
⚠️ Price risk while you play
Fiat players never think about this. Crypto players have to. The coin’s price keeps moving between the day you deposit and the day you withdraw.
Worked example, illustrative numbers: you deposit Bitcoin worth C$200. You play for a week, break even, and withdraw the same amount of Bitcoin. If Bitcoin’s price fell 10% that week, you get back coins worth about C$180 without losing a single bet. If it rose 10%, about C$220. The swing has nothing to do with the games.
If you want crypto’s speed without the price swing, a stablecoin on a cheap network is the usual compromise. If you’re holding Bitcoin anyway and happy with the swing, that’s a choice, not a strategy for the casino.
Fees, minimums and ID checks
Fees. Every transfer pays a network fee, and Bitcoin is the priciest of the common coins. Whether the casino adds its own withdrawal fee varies by site and wasn’t consistently published in our sources, so check the cashier.
Minimums. Crypto minimums are often set in the coin, not in dollars. BitGuruz is listed with a 25 USDT minimum withdrawal; SpinJo at C$20 for crypto, lower than its bank transfer floor.
KYC. “No ID needed” is a claim we never repeat. Our sources disagree on how often offshore crypto casinos verify players, and many still run checks above certain amounts. The blockchain is public, too, so crypto is less private than it sounds. Upload your documents early, as our no deposit bonus guide recommends for any first cashout.
Bonuses. Some casinos run separate crypto tiers: Oxibet is reported with a larger crypto version of its welcome offer, from search snippets only. The same wagering maths applies to any of them, so run any offer through the wagering calculator before you claim.

Is crypto the right route for you?
Crypto suits you if you already hold coins, want the quickest cashouts on the board, and are comfortable checking a network label every time. It’s a worse fit if you’d be buying crypto only to gamble, since you add platform fees, network fees and price risk to the house edge. Interac e-Transfer stays the simpler route for most Canadians; our Interac casinos page lists every site that takes it.
For more on what “fast” and “high payout” mean, see our highest payout casinos explainer, and for small first deposits, the C$1 and C$5 deposit guide. The Tether USDT page and Ethereum page cover each coin in detail.
🍁 For players in Canada
The crypto casinos we list are licensed outside Canada and serve players aged 19 or over outside Ontario and Alberta, which run their own regulated markets. Provincial consumer protections don’t apply to these sites, and crypto adds price risk on top of the house edge. Set a deposit limit before you play, and see our responsible gambling page if it stops being fun.
FAQ
Can I buy crypto in Canada to use at a casino?
There is a stablecoin catch. Under Canadian securities regulators' rules, USDC stays tradable on Canadian-registered platforms and is the stablecoin Canadians can buy at home, while USDT was delisted for Canadian users by several platforms from 2023. Binance left Canada in 2023. What you then do with the coins is your call and your risk.
How fast are crypto casino withdrawals?
In a 2026 test of 213 withdrawals at 8 crypto casinos on pre-verified accounts, average times were 2-8 minutes for USDT on Tron, 5-15 minutes for Ethereum and 8-25 minutes for Bitcoin, with weekends 20-50% slower. Your first withdrawal still waits for the casino's review and any ID check.
Do crypto casinos skip ID checks?
Don't count on it. Our sources disagree on how often offshore crypto casinos verify players, and many still run checks above certain amounts. Plan for KYC before your first cashout, the same as with Interac or an e-wallet.
What happens if I pick the wrong network?
The network has to match on both ends: the casino's deposit address and the one you send from. USDT runs on Tron, Ethereum and Solana, among others, and USDC stopped running on Tron in February 2024. Check the network label in the cashier before every transfer.
Is a stablecoin safer than Bitcoin for casino play?
It removes most of the price swing between deposit and withdrawal, because it's pegged to the US dollar. It still carries some risk: USDC briefly lost its peg in March 2023 before recovering four days later. And a US-dollar coin still carries exchange-rate movement against the Canadian dollar.
